Tom Sheridan and Sean Hurley put in strong 3km time trials on a beautiful Wednesday morning at McGillivray Oval as the club’s first to fourth-year players were put to the test.

Sheridan led from start to finish to show he’s fit and ready for the upcoming pre-season.

Freo fans will be heartened by the performance of the club’s international rookie, Hurley.

The Irish recruit was a fast-finishing second to Sheridan.

Afterwards, Hayden Crozier said there was a positive feeling among the group after the trial.

“It felt really good, the boys were running good times and everyone was looking really fit and firing,” he said.

“We’re looking forward to a big pre-season.”

Crozier was impressed with Sheridan’s trial, but he added Hurley’s performance was not totally unexpected.

“I’ve heard he’s a pretty good runner, so I saw it first-hand today,” he said.

“He was absolutely flying, so that was good.”
