Nat Fyfe is to have minor surgery on his injured shoulder.

The 2014 Doig Medallist injured his right shoulder in Sydney last week while training with the All Australian squad ahead of the International Rules Test match against Ireland.

Scans confirmed that Fyfe had strained his AC joint. At the time the club advised that it was awaiting further assessment of the injury by a specialist, who has today advised that minor surgery is required.

Fyfe is due to have the surgery this week.

The club’s medical advice is that the injury and subsequent surgery will not have a significant impact on the 23-year-old’s pre-season campaign.
