The Fremantle Dockers are on track to crack the 50,000 members mark for the first time.

The club has already secured 47,343 members this year, just over 2000 more than this time last year.

Freo CEO Steve Rosich told perthnow.com.au that membership renewals were “really strong”.

“Only a very small portion of 2014 members were (unable) to renew their 2015 membership,” he said.

“That has set us up for a real chance at surpassing 50,000 members for the first time.

“We’re hoping that we can secure that milestone mark, which would also make it the sixth consecutive year of membership growth for the footy club.”

The PerthNow analysis of membership data said Freo’s membership base grew 14 per cent over 2013-14.

Fremantle was also No.1 in the AFL for on-field merchandise sales in 2014.
