Freo’s final training session of the week had a focus on clearance work at stoppages and moving the ball inside 50.

While senior coach Ross Lyon last week alluded to training tapering off as round one edged closer, the boys were giving it their all as the competition for spots heats up.

Michael Walters spent the session in the gym, while star midfielder Stephen Hill was running laps of Fremantle Oval.

Zac Clarke didn’t train, while fellow ruckman Aaron Sandilands had stints in the centre and also as a key forward.

Experienced duo Luke McPharlin and captain Matthew Pavlich again went head-to-head as midfielders David MundyLachie Neale and Nat Fyfe worked the ball forward.

Fremantle takes on Port Adelaide next Sunday 5 April in the annual Starlight Purple Haze Game.

Bounce down at Domain Stadium is 4.40pm.
