Some good news at Fremantle with experienced defender Zac Dawson back training and he may be available for selection within a couple of weeks.

But in disappointing news, fellow defender Alex Silvagni had another setback playing for Peel Thunder on Sunday.

Silvagni aggravated a hamstring injury in the first quarter, which has already sidelined him this year.

Fremantle sports science manager Jason Weber said it was tough news for the 27 year old.

“Sos was injured early in the game, He reinjured his hamstring,” he said.

“It’s a high speed incident, he got put into an unfortunate position.”

Weber said Dawson would be back training with the main group this week.

Training report: Wednesday 29 April

“Zac did some introductory drills last week and some game simulation,” he said.

Michael Apeness and Tanner Smith, who were ruled out last week due to concussions, will be available for selection.
