Debutant Alex Pearce says he will remember his first game for Fremantle for the rest of his life.

Pearce impressed in his first AFL match with 10 disposals including six marks, in Freo’s 28-point win over Essendon at Domain Stadium on Saturday.

Lyon thrilled with Pearce

The 19-year-old received a loud roar from the home crowd when he got his first kick.

“It was pretty special,” he said.

“To play in a good win and play with those 21 other blokes is something I won’t forget.”

Pearce said despite the big occasion he managed to keep a lid on nerves before the game.

“They weren’t too bad, to be honest I thought I’d be a bit worse,” he said.

“It’s always good to get that first hand on the ball or first kick.”

The 200cm defender was recruited from Devonport, Tasmania at pick 37 in the 2013 National Draft

His family made the trip west to witness his debut.

“My parents and my sister watched,” he said.

“It was really special to see them after the game and share the moment with them.”
