Nat Fyfe was unveiled to the football world in Round 5, 2010 and he instantly made an impression.

The lanky lad from Lake Grace started the year in the WAFL at Claremont but he soon impressed Fremantle’s match committee enough to select him for the Len Hall Tribute Match against Richmond.

While his tally of 13 touches is dwarfed by his recent disposal counts, it was his first goal and how it came about that put him on the football map.

Fyfe’s journey to greatness sails on

In what has now become a trademark of the two-time Doig Medallist, Fyfe launched over two players to take a contested mark inside Fremantle’s forward-50.

He nonchalantly went back and slotted his first goal in the AFL.

It was an exciting taste of what was to come.
