Matthew Pavlich confirmed himself as one of the AFL greats in Saturday night’s 73-point win over North Melbourne.

While Pavlich was subbed out in the final term, he moved into equal tenth for most games as a captain in AFL/VFL history.

He kicked an important early goal to help set up the dominant win and was a solid target in attack.

The match was his 175th game as as captain, drawing him equal with Melbourne legend David Neitz.

Pavlich and St Kilda captain Nick Riewoldt are the only current captains in the top 10.

More than 50 per cent of Pavlich’s 321 games have been as captain.
