Fremantle senior coach Ross Lyon says the club welcomes the hype surrounding it this year but says it means little if it does not achieve anything on field.

“We love the hype, we don’t want to sneak around in this town,” Lyon said.

“You can’t sneak around in league footy.”

Lyon said that team success would ultimately define Fremantle.

“We want to produce great players and great teams,” he said.

“We’ve got multiple best and fairest but I look over at the cabinet and it's empty.”

Fremantle play the Crows at Adelaide Oval on Saturday 30 May. Bounce down is at 7.10pm.
