Fremantle midfielder David Mundy said the club is firmly focused on next week’s game against Brisbane and not looking further ahead to September.

The club sits on top of the ladder with 11 wins and one loss, primed for an exciting second half of the season.

However, Mundy told AFL 360 this week that the his eyes were firmly set on the next week.

“If you look too far ahead, games can really jump up and catch you unaware,” he said.

“We are fully focused on the moment, understanding we haven’t achieved anything.”

Mundy said while he was pleased with Fremantle’s season so far, it meant little if the side did not continue winning.

“We’ve put a few wins together but at this stage that means nothing,” he said.

“We’re striving to be the best.”
