Kenneth Bedford-Hills travelled nearly 3,000km to Domain Stadium to watch his first AFL match on Sunday.

The Year 10 student is one of 16 participants in the Live the Dream program, presented by Decmil, who got the rare chance to visit Fremantle’s change rooms following the 36-point win over Brisbane.

For Kenneth, the moment was extra special as it was the first AFL game he had watched live.

“It was very exciting as I’ve never watched an AFL game before,” he said.

The program gives 16 young people the opportunity to develop skills and behaviours, which can deliver long-term benefits to the individual and their local community.

“It’s been really exciting,” he said.

“I hope one day I can play AFL.”

Kenneth is being mentored by Fremantle forward Michael Walters.

Walters praised the program for its work with young people.

“It’s an outstanding program,” he said.

“It’s good to see country kids come down and see them involved with some AFL players and make them strive for bigger and better things.”
