Midfielder David Mundy says last year’s 58-point loss to St Kilda still burns Fremantle’s players ahead of Sunday’s re-match at Etihad Stadium.

The round 18 clash last year was Fremantle’s equal heaviest loss of the 2014 season and came after the Saints thumped Fremantle at Etihad Stadium in 2013 by 71-points.

Fyfe will be desperate to get back: Mundy

Fremantle rested several senior players in the latter fixture but last year played a side that included Nat Fyfe, Michael Barlow and Mundy.

“We didn’t perform well last time we met them over there and we were very disappointed in that game,” he said.

‘We’re a pretty proud group, proud of what we’ve achieved in the last few years and that (game) was certainly a blip on the radar.

Training Report: Johnson on the move

Mundy said Freo would not under-estimate the Saints this year.

“We probably went over there and under-estimated them, maybe a little bit cocky,” he said.

“They’ve had games this year we’re they’ve played some exceptional football.

“We’re under no illusions.”

Fremantle play St Kilda at Etihad Stadium on Sunday 9 August. Bounce down is at 4.40pm local time.
