The Match Review Panel will on Monday investigate a biting allegation involving West Coast midfielder Chris Masten, according to afl.com.au
Masten is alleged to have bitten Fremantle's Nick Suban in Sunday's Carlton Draught Derby, prompting an incident referral.
The MRP will first examine footage from all available angles, but it is understood an investigation will need to follow, which would likely involve questioning of the players.
The incident, which is alleged to have occurred as Masten and Suban wrestled, took place late in the third quarter and was not reported by the match day umpires.
The AFL confirmed the MRP would first examine all vision, including non-broadcast, to see if it could act on the allegation.
Meanwhile, Fremantle defender Alex Silvagni could be headed to the AFL tribunal after he appeared to elbow Eagle Jamie Cripps in the head during the second quarter of Sunday's clash at Domain Stadium. It is open to the MRP to grade his conduct intentional, which would result in a direct referral.
