Sunday’s win against Melbourne was an historic victory for Fremantle, securing its first minor premiership and setting a club record for most wins in a single season.

The 54-point win sewed up top spot on the AFL ladder with one round of the home and away season remaining.

It was also the club’s 17th win of the season, beating its previous season record of 16 wins reached in 2014 and 2013.

Fremantle could further surpass its previous record of 16 wins in a season with one round remaining.
