Fremantle captain Matthew Pavlich says his side has its eyes on a bigger prize than its first minor premiership.
The club will finished on top of the AFL ladder for the first time in its 21-year history, winning the McClelland Trophy.
“It’s a fantastic achievement for the club and everyone who’s been involved in that process,” Pavlich told Seven News.
“Players, coaching staff, the club in general and support staff.

“We tick that box but there are bigger and more important things than the minor premiership.”
When asked about whether the club could win its first premiership, Pavlich was unequivocal.
“In short, yes we can,” he said.

“But there are a lot of teams out there desperate to get their hands on the cup.”
Pavlich is among a handful of Fremantle’s senior players that will not play in Saturday’s round 23 clash with Port Adelaide.
The game has no consequence on the ladder and offers a timely respite for bodies sore from 21 rounds of football.
“It provides the club a great opportunity for a rest, both mentally and physically... and get set for the real season,” Pavlich said.
