Fremantle senior coach Ross Lyon says midfielder Nathan Fyfe told him he feels like a million dollars, as Fyfe attempts to prove his fitness for Saturday's qualifying final against the Sydney Swans at Domain Stadium.

But ruckman Jon Griffin has already been ruled out of the blockbuster clash because of a hamstring injury.

Fyfe has missed the past two matches because of inflammation in his left leg, but coach Ross Lyon said the two-time Doig Medallist was a good chance to return against the Swans.

"I spoke to him today. He said he feels a million bucks. And the conditioners and physios are really confident that he'll be fine," Lyon said on Monday.

"But the next hurdle is he'll train over the next few days and do our main session on Thursday, and then he'll need to declare himself (fit) like he basically declared himself today.

Lyon said Michael Walters was a certain starter after missing the past two weeks with calf soreness.

The coach added fellow small forward Hayden Ballantyne would be available for selection but was no certainty to be picked, given he has not played since round 16 after having surgery to repair a torn pectoral.

"Hayden's every chance, but he's no guarantee," Lyon said.

"That's the difficult one. He'll be fit and available to play. It just comes down to match committee, the balance of the team."

Griffin has been ruled out but Lyon said he did not know how long the big man would be out for.

Defender Cam Sutcliffe would be available despite dislocating his shoulder in round 22.
