Fremantle senior coach Ross Lyon says the club rolled out a plan to manage recovery and training during its week off and is primed for Friday’s Preliminary Final.

Freo head into the final against Hawthorn at Domain Stadium off a week break, while Hawthorn played Adelaide on Friday night.

For some players, it will be just the second game in four weeks after they were rested for the final home and away match against Port Adelaide.

Hills make history

“We’ve been training strongly, tried to stay focused, fresh and raring to go,” Lyon said.

Lyon said the club’s sport science manager Jason Weber had set out a management plan following the win over Sydney.

“I work in concert with our head conditioner, Jason Weber.

“He has put the plan out and we trust him.

“He has certainly delivered in the past.”

Lyon said Fremantle had maintained its fitness all season, since a tough pre-season.

“We have a big aerobic base below us,” he said.

“We go in fit and ready to go.”
