For a few moments on Friday night Jerome Taylor (10) will be part of Fremantle history when he runs out onto Domain Stadium.

Jerome is the Docker for a Day, thanks to Fremantle’s major sponsor Programmed, and will run out onto the ground with the side in Friday’s Preliminary Final.

Match preview

The 10-year-old has overcome several health issues from birth, and Jerome’s mum Nola Taylor said the normally shy Freo fan was “super excited”.

“Jerome has always been a massive Fremantle Dockers fan,” he said.

“He’s going to love the experience.

“This is something really special for him because we haven’t been able to get to the footy.”

Jerome met Fremantle Indigenous players Michael Johnson, Danyle Pearce, Michael Walters and Stephen Hill on Thursday.

The Taylor family have not been able to attend a Fremantle game this season but are heading along on Friday night.

Talking points ahead of the Prelim

Jerome plays football with Kingsway Junior Football.

“On a personal level, we’ve had a really hard year,” Nola said.

“But this is really nice for him and us after a pretty bad year.”
