Imagine a forward line with All Australians Hayden Ballantyne and Jeff Farmer lining up alongside each other.

Through the middle runs Stephen Hill, Peter Bell and Nat Fyfe.

In defence, Luke McPharlin, Antoni Grover and Dale Kickett line up side by side.

The Herald Sun released its 22-man Fremantle team of the AFL era on Wednesday.

The newspaper’s journalist Jon Anderson is compiling the best 22 from each club since the beginning of the AFL competition in 1990.

Former Fremantle board member Les Everett helped assemble the Freo side that offers some mouthwatering prospects.

Players must have played more than 100 games, five seasons or kicked 200 or more goals to make the team.

Noticeable absentees are club champion Shaun McManus, Troy Cook, Paul Medhurst and Des Headland.
