Freo’s Cam Sutcliffe spoke about his previous experience as a country boy meeting AFL players, and the importance of the trips to the country made possible by the AFL Australia Post Community Camps.

“Being from the country in South Australia, we had Port Adelaide visit when I was in school,” Sutcliffe said.

“To be able to see what AFL players go through on a daily basis and see how hard it can be.

“It really showed me how important living life with a healthy balance is.”

For Sutcliffe, teaching kids that were in the position he in once was a great opportunity.

“To be able to give them some insight about healthy living and goal setting was pretty enlightening for them,” he said.

The classy ball user also mentioned one observation that made him particularly happy with the kids.

“There’s plenty of purple here today, and I haven’t seen too many Eagles fans around,” he laughed.
