Alex Pearce's ability to play forward or back resulted in Peel Thunder's first win for the season against East Fremantle on Saturday.

The young defender moved into the forward line late in the fourth quarter and kicked two crucial goals during red time to beat the inaccurate Sharks by three points, 11.7 (73) to 9.16 (70).

Defender Tanner Smith who has been playing up forward for Peel this season finished with four goals.

Ed Langdon and Matt de Boer were solid with 32 and 34 disposals respectively.

Brady Grey was in and under all day finishing with 12 tackles and Fremantle ruckman Jack Hannath dominated around the ground with 56 hit-outs.
