Round one is history and while the Fremantle Dockers lost to the Western Bulldogs, there were a number of players that may have helped your AFL Fantasy team get off to an undefeated start.

Looking ahead to round two, Freo have a strong record against the Gold Coast, having not lost to the Suns in five clashes since 2011.

Some Freo players have excelled in these games and could be helpful additions to your AFL Fantasy team this week.

HBF Injury Update: March 29

Traditional Performer - Garrick Ibbotson
Ibbotson has been a constant performer in his four career games against the Suns. He averages more than 21 touches and eight marks a game against the Gold Coast, his best return against any club in the AFL. In three of his four games against the Suns he’s scored more than 96 fantasy points.

Captain’s Choice - Aaron Sandilands
If you’re looking to get some extra points out of your captain this week, look no further than Aaron Sandilands, who returns after missing round one due to suspension. ‘Sandi’ has only played two games against the Gold Coast but registered 104 fantasy points in both contests. His high scores resulted from his domination in the ruck, in which he’s amassed a combined 128 hit outs in two games, including a career high 70 in Round 11 last season.

Smokey - Jonathon Griffin
The idea of selecting Griffin with Sandilands back in the line up may sound questionable but then again, that’s why it’s a Smokey pick. Griffin has been the main man against the Suns on a number of occasions and has performed well, and with a role alongside Sandi may be able to exploit some favourable match ups and be an under the radar pickup for round two. Griffin averages more than 15 touches, 30 hit outs and nearly two goals a game against the Suns.

Purple Patch - Tommy Sheridan
The rebounding defender averaged 24 disposals in Freo’s NAB Challenge campaign and continued his good form against the Western Bulldogs in round one, notching 27 disposals and finishing with 116 fantasy points. With a return to the expansive ground of Domain Stadium, he should have plenty of room to run against the Gold Coast on Saturday.

Safe Pick - David Mundy
Like many opponents in his acclaimed career, the Freo skipper has been a consistent performer against the Suns. In his previous four games against the Gold Coast side he’s averaged 100 fantasy points a game and should be a sure starter in your team this week.
