Peel Thunder won a hard fought, low-scoring game in difficult conditions against East Perth on Saturday.

Peel trailed at quarter time but kept the Royals to only 1.4 the rest of the game to run out 14-point winners 5.9.39 to 3.7.25 at a wet and windy Rushton Park.

Peel currently sit fourth on the WAFL ladder and will prepare for a crucial round 11 matchup against the third placed East Fremantle, who sit only one game clear of the Thunder.

A number of Freo-listed players have been performing well in the WAFL, and this continued against East Perth in round nine.

Sam Collins
Played down back and had another solid performance. He was able to take some nice marks in wet conditions and spoiled the ball well throughout the game

Ryan Nyhuis
Played in the backline and played his role well. He used the ball well considering the conditions on the day

Matthew Uebergang
Played a key defensive role and was good with his reading of the play and took some nice marks across halfback

Tendai Mzungu
Played across the wing and halfback and effectively held up the East Perth attack when going inside 50. Used the ball well coming from defence

Cam Sutcliffe
Played halfback and was in the action a lot as a rebounding defender. He moved the ball forward for us and gave the team a contest at ground level and in the air

Darcy Tucker
Played on both wings and had a solid game despite the windy conditions often interrupting the ball movement up the ground

Jack Hannath
Played in the ruck all game and was up against two AFL calibre ruck-men for East Perth but handled himself well throughout the day

Michael Barlow
Played in the midfield all game. Had plenty of the ball and gave our runners a chance as he fed the ball out to them. Also laid 13 tackles and kicked three goals

Josh Deluca
Played half-forward all game and did some nice things. He flashed throughout the game and his attack on the ball was strong

Brady Grey
Played half-forward and midfield and performed well. He kicked our last goal which was important to stem East Perth’s momentum and as usual hit the contest hard

Tanner Smith
Played as a forward/ruck and was solid. It was a tough day for tall forwards but he always provided a good contest

Michael Apeness
Played full-forward and pinch hit in the ruck a bit. Provided a good target despite conditions making it a tough slog for big men on the day
