Fremantle midfielder Michael Barlow is hopeful he can recover from a fractured finger quicker than the anticipated four-week time frame.

Barlow injured his finger in the 48-point loss to Collingwood at the MCG on Friday night.

“I knew it was sore, but I was hoping it was just a jarred finger,” Barlow told Nine News on Tuesday night.

“The diagnosis is roughly four weeks.

“Hopefully, I can get back a bit quicker.”

HBF Injury Update: In-form Barlow to miss four

Teammate Clancee Pearce suffered a syndesmosis strain in Peel Thunder’s 39-point loss to Swan Districts on Saturday, bringing Fremantle’s injury toll to 19.

“Unfortunately we had another one at WAFL level with Clancee Pearce,” Barlow said.

“He’s had a wretched run.

“You don’t have to look too far around the change-rooms for some hard-luck stories.”

Fremantle have a bye this week, but are set to take on Melbourne in Alice Springs on Saturday, the 9th of July.
