The last thing on John Harris’ mind when he walked into Domain Stadium to watch Matthew Pavlich’s last game was a trip to Los Angeles courtesy of Virgin Australia.

Yet, by the time the final siren sounded, he had watched Pavlich play his 353rd game, kick his 700th goal and had won a trip to the United States.

A 22-year member, Mr. Harris hasn’t missed a home game in season 2016 and Virgin Australia rewarded his loyalty by giving him a return ticket for two to LA.

“I can’t believe it!,” he said.

“Thank you very, very much to Virgin.”

“It is amazing.”

Mr. Harris said it was made even more special watching Pavlich kick his milestone goal.

“You can feel the excitement around Domain Stadium,” he said.

“If we can build for next year and the future years and get the vibes going again, it will be fantastic.”

Mr. Harris’ son, Leigh, said there isn’t a more deserving winner of the trip.

“It’s massive for him, because he’s such a kind, giving person,” he said.

“When the other block there won their trip to LA, he was so happy for them.”

“It wasn’t about anyone else.”
