Can’t make it to the 2016 Doig Medal?

Thanks to Carlton Pale Ale you can watch Freo’s night of nights from the comfort of your living room.  

The 2016 Doig Medal will be streamed live from the Grand Ballroom at Crown Perth via fremantlefc.com.au/doiglive from 7.10pm on Saturday 8 October.

The event will determine the clubs best and fairest from season 2016, as well as provide a host of other awards and entertainment.

During the event breaks, club legend Shaun McManus and game day announcer Tyronne Twaites will broadcast live from the from the Doig Medal Front Bar conducting interviews with some of Freo’s biggest names, including captain David Mundy and coach Ross Lyon.

Awards Overview

Beacon Award
The Beacon Award, proudly sponsored by Programmed, contains similar criteria to the AFL’s Rising Star award in that players are eligible to win it in their first or second year of AFL football provided they have played 10 games or less in their debut season.

Players’ Award
This award is voted on by the players themselves and is given to the player who is deemed to have best reflected the values set by the playing group at the start of the season.

Best Clubman
The Clubman Award is voted on by the playing group and various club departments and recognises the player that consistently puts the needs of the team first, willingly accepts responsibility to improve the whole club environment and lives the values of the playing group.
