A deal to bring GWS forward Cam McCarthy is still being negotiated, according to Fremantle’s general manager of list management Brad Lloyd.

Speaking on NAB Trade Radio on Monday, Lloyd said the feeling between the two clubs was good as they work through getting a deal done.

“I think it will happen. I’ve been talking with Craig Cameron (GWS list manager) for a couple of months now working through it all,” Lloyd said.

“Hopefully, we can get him to the club.”

McCarthy has been training with WAFL club South Fremantle over the past season and Lloyd believes he is travelling well back home in Perth.

“It’s been really good and healthy for him.  He’s been doing really well and enjoying himself down there,” Lloyd said.

Lloyd said the two clubs have been discussing all possible options to facilitate a move for the 21-year-old.

“We’ve worked through a number of things, whether its the pick three involved or future picks,” he said.

“We’re looking at all the alternatives for Cam and what helps with the rest of our trade and draft strategies.”
