Fremantle will receive a boost for Saturday’s clash against the GWS Giants at Blacktown International Sportspark, with the expected debut of powerful forward Kira Phillips and return of defender Ebony Antonio.

The additions of Phillips and Antonio comes at a much-needed time for Fremantle, with both Freo and GWS chasing a maiden win in the NAB AFL Women’s competition.

Antonio missed Fremantle’s round two loss to Brisbane due to suspension, after earning a one-match sanction for her bump on the Western Bulldogs’ Jess Gardner in round one.

Phillips has the credentials to boost Fremantle’s potency up front. The 21-year-old kicked five goals for West Coast against Fremantle in an exhibition match last year, and kicked the winning goal for Melbourne in a 2015 exhibition match against the Western Bulldogs.

Making way for Antonio and Phillips are the injured Brianna Green and Kim Mickle, who both sustained season-ending injuries against Brisbane.

Antonio is slated to start Saturday’s clash in the centre while Phillips will be on the bench alongside Cassie Davidson, Demi Okely, Mel Caulfield, Stacey Barr and Belinda Smith.
