Fremantle are chasing their fourth win in a row in this Saturday’s Carlton Draught Derby against West Coast at Domain Stadium.

Despite their good form, Freo will be forced to make at least one change due to an injury to midfielder Stephen Hill.

Fremantle’s Peel players will be come in fresh after the Thunder had a bye in the WAFL over the weekend.

Midfielders
Fremantle have a number of options to replace Hill including youngster Harley Balic and experienced midfielder Danyle Pearce. Balic, who missed round four with a hip injury, is listed as a test on Fremantle’s HBF Injury List, and was put through his paces at yesterday’s training session. Pearce has not featured for Peel in his three weeks out of the Fremantle line-up. After playing his 250th AFL game against Port Adelaide in round two, Pearce was listed as an emergency in rounds three and four, and missed last weekend due to the Thunder’s bye.

Balic’s round four replacement Darcy Tucker remains a strong chance to hold his spot after picking up 17 disposals and four marks against North Melbourne.

Cam Sutcliffe, who was an emergency against North Melbourne, is also a chance to earn a spot after performing well in Peel’s midfield against West Perth a fortnight ago.

Forwards
Matt Taberner sits second in the WAFL goalkicking stats with 14 goals from five games, and remains a viable option to come into the Freo forwardline. Taberner’s value comes through his ability to help out in the ruck, with the 197cm forward trying his hand as a back up ruckman for Peel throughout the season.

Jon Griffin is another option to act as a back-up to Aaron Sandilands, with the 201cm ruckman able to rotate in and out of Fremantle’s forwardline.

Currently, defender Michael Johnson is playing the role as a back-up to Sandilands.

Defenders
Sam Collins remains an option in defence, with the 22-year-old putting up a string of strong performances for Peel this season.
