Peel Thunder ended their four-game losing streak on a sunny day at Fremantle Oval, winning by 23 points against Claremont.

Freo listed player Danyle Pearce racked up 35 disposals and a goal in a best on ground performance.

New Freo draftee Griffin Logue was solid on his return to WAFL level, playing well alongside fellow backman Sam Collins, who shone once again for the Thunder.

Leroy Jetta was a class act, proving handy with 12 disposals and three goals.

Peel captain Gerald Ugle was a stand out with four goals, getting the Thunder rolling with the first goal in the opening two minutes.

Peel continued their run, kicking six goals to half time while holding the home side to a single goal heading into the main break.

The third term began slowly but Peel continued to apply immense pressure on the ball to hold up the away side.

Over the past few weeks Peel have struggled to deliver a full four-quarter effort.

But after some strong encouragement from coach Cam Shepherd at the three quarter, the group finished strongly to seal the win.

Freo Dockers listed player Taylin Duman said the team produced a solid performance for the full four quarters.

“It was good, we started really well today and that was the focus going in,” Duman said

“In the past few weeks we have sort of died off in the last quarter, but we really fought it out today and it was a good effort by the boys.”

Duman felt Freo teammate Danyle Pearce added some composure to the playing group.

“I think Danyle was good coming in, gave a lot of maturity around the ball and was really composed with it as well,” Duman said.

Peel will face third place Swan Districts at Rushton Park on Saturday 13 May.
