Michael Walters has hailed the work of teammate Bradley Hill, with the new recruit continuing to impress since his arrival at Fremantle.

Walters said in Tuesday’s media conference that Hill’s strengths lie in his determination and gut running, with the 23-year-old wingman leading the club in metres gained in 2017.

“He’s a really good player, isn’t he?” Walters said.

“He’s one of those players that runs all day and that’s what makes him so good.

“He’s so mentally strong as he can push through games and run his opponent into the ground.”

Hill was among Fremantle’s best in rounds seven and eight against Essendon and Richmond but was comparatively quiet against Carlton despite kicking two crucial goals.

Walters said that an off day could be excused with Hill playing on a quality opponent in Carlton’s Ed Curnow.

“He had a quiet game at the weekend but he was up against Curnow who’s a really hard runner himself,” Walters said.

“We need Bradley to just keep going, we need him to keep stepping up and fronting up each week because he’s a really good player for us and he’s a strong leader as well.”

The younger of the Hill siblings has been a feature on Fremantle’s wing opposite brother Stephen.

The pair form a dangerous duo on the outside when receiving service from a strong core of inside midfielders that includes Nat Fyfe, Lachie Neale, David Mundy and Connor Blakely.

“Any team would love Bradley Hill running for them,” Walters said.

“To have him and his brother in the same side, who are pretty similar quality players, it works really well for us.”
