Fremantle head east after the bye to face Geelong at Simonds Stadium.

With a week to regroup after a round 12 loss to Brisbane, a number of players could return from injury.

In Wednesday’s media conference, senior coach Ross Lyon suggested that Fremantle would continue to develop their younger players in the second half of the season.

Aaron Sandilands
After missing three games and an extra week on the sidelines during the bye, Sandilands is again facing a fitness test. Sandilands is expected to train on Friday ahead of Freo’s flight east, where a final decision will be made.

Hayden Ballantyne
Ballantyne trained with the side on Wednesday and is expected to be available for selection. The small forward is yet to play a game in 2017, however Lyon suggested that Ballantyne is likely to start this week.
“We’d like to get him up, I think he deserves that,” Lyon said.
“He’s got to get through training, but I think we’ll pick him.”

Ed Langdon
Langdon has missed two of Freo’s past four games, including round 12 against Brisbane. Given an extra week to rest his knee, the utility player is expected to be fit and available for selection.

Sean Darcy
Coming off back-to-back 40+ hit-out games in the WAFL, Sean Darcy has continued to grow in his first season on an AFL list. The potential return of Sandilands may not hurt Darcy’s chances of making his debut, either. The 19-year-old has also performed up front when required - kicking four goals against Swan Districts in round nine - and could be selected as a forward/ruck in support of Sandilands.

Ryan Nyhuis
Recently elevated off the rookie list, Nyhuis travelled with the side to Brisbane as an emergency. The defender has played lock-down roles on WAFL forwards, including Subiaco star forward Liam Ryan, who was kept to nine disposals and a goal in round 11.

Griffin Logue
Logue, who has played four AFL games this year, was listed as one of Peel’s best in their six-point win over South Fremantle. The 19-year-old picked up seven marks with his 14 disposals, including a crucial contested mark late, which helped set up Peel’s winning goal.

Ethan Hughes
Has played all but three games this season and performed strongly in round 12 for Peel. Hughes had eight marks and 15 kicks in his 22 disposals against South Fremantle and has averaged 15.1 disposals at AFL level this season.
