Midfielder Connor Blakely has been omitted from Sunday’s game against St Kilda for not meeting team standards.

General manager of football operations Chris Bond said that Blakely had made an uncharacteristic error of judgement after leaving the club mid-afternoon on Wednesday because he was ill and subsequently travelling to Bunbury and Yallingup, where he went surfing the next day.

“As a respected, young and emerging player at Fremantle, Connor knows the uncompromising standards that all of our players are required to adhere to and, in this instance, Connor has not been at the required level,” Bond said.

“As a result Connor was withdrawn from the team to play St Kilda.”

Stephen Hill (calf) and Josh Deluca (ankle) have also been withdrawn from the squad of 25.

Sam Collins, Danyle Pearce and Ethan Hughes have come into the squad of 25.

The final 22 will be named on fremantlefc.com.au at 3pm.
