Midfielder Nat Fyfe has been recognised as the best on ground by senior coaches Ross Lyon and Brad Scott in Fremantle’s four-point win over North Melbourne on Sunday at Etihad Stadium. 

Fyfe polled a maximum 10 votes in the 2017 Shadforth Financial Group AFLCA Champion Player of the Year for round 16.

The Freo captain collected 33 touches (19 contested), 12 clearances, four inside 50s while taking six marks and kicking a goal.

It continues a run of strong Fyfe performances against North Melbourne. Fyfe polled three Brownlow votes against North in round eight, 2015 and round four, 2016 and was among Freo's best in round five earlier in the season.

Three other Freo players collected votes, including debutant Ryan Nyhuis who earned one vote for his four-goal effort.

Forward Michael Walters (three goals, 20 disposals) and midfielder Connor Blakely (32 disposals, 12 marks) polled four votes each.
