Defender Lee Spurr is expected to spend at least three weeks out of action with a calf injury, according to high performance manager Jason Weber.

Weber said Spurr sustained the injury during Freo’s round 18 clash with Hawthorn on Saturday night.

“Lee had a slight calf injury early in the game on the weekend,” Weber said.

“He was able to push through but unfortunately, this week and the next couple of weeks, we’ll have him out.”

Fremantle utility Ed Langdon is set to spend at least another fortnight on the sidelines with an ongoing knee injury.

Langdon last appeared for Fremantle in round 11 against Collingwood on Sunday, 4 June.

“Ed’s knee is quite complex, it’s dragging on a little bit,” Weber said.

“He’ll have a run test at the end of this week and we’ll see how he goes, and if he can progress further.”

Tommy Sheridan, who has missed the past two weeks with a hamstring injury, is pushing to be available for selection this week against GWS.

“Tom’s had a bit of a hamstring injury since our past Melbourne trip,” Weber said.

“We’ll test him this week and see if we can get him up for match committee at the end of this week.”

Weber said Fremantle were going to take their time with the return of rookie Taylin Duman, who has missed the past two weeks in the WAFL.

“Taylin hurt his back in training a fortnight ago,” Weber said.

“We’re being relatively conservative with him being a young player, but we look to have him back at football training next week.”

Weber also gave an update on Harley Bennell, who has played the past two weeks in the WAFL after spending more than a year out of the game with multiple calf injuries.

“Harley’s backed up alright from the weekend,” Weber said.

“He had a small run today and we look forward to progressing his training through this week, and get him back on the field this weekend.”
