Michelle Cowan runs through the progress of four of Freo-listed AFLW players in the WAWFL.

During the past fortnight, Cowan attended the Swan Districts v East Fremantle game in round 16 and the Claremont v Swan Districts game in round 17.

Ebony Antonio (Swan Districts)
Throughout the whole season, Ebony has had the opportunity to build on her ability to play across the field.
She’s played a few games forward through the midfield and off half-back and it’s good to see that versatility across the whole ground.
On the weekend against Claremont, she played on the wing and it was a really positive performance from her.
She used the ball really well, but the most impressive side of her game was taking quite a few contested marks across the ground. She had a lot of impact in the win over Claremont and was very influential.

Gabby O’Sullivan (East Fremantle)
Gabby played through the middle against Swan Districts and had the opportunity to hit the scoreboard, kicking a really good goal from 40m out in what was a great win for East Freo.
She’s working really hard on her ground ball and her contested possession and is still working on her craft, while balancing her commitment to basketball.

Kelly Gibson (Swan Districts)
Playing forward for Swan Districts, Kelly has been really explosive in her leading and her inside 50 entries, which was something that’s really impressed our list management team when we signed her in the off-season.
Her use of the footy is really clean and her ability to hit up her player has been impressive.

Mel Caulfield (East Fremantle)
It’s good to see Mel back and playing footy. Her body has returned to the strongest that she’s been for a number of years, so she’s worked really hard to get fit and strong in her rehab and recovery from the AFLW season.
She has a significant impact at East Fremantle, and has been really dangerous in hitting the scoreboard as one of their leading goal kickers for the season, which is impressive considering she has had minimal games.
