Freo fans will remember the last time Freo met Richmond the MCG in round 8, 2017.

The Tigers trailed by 30-points at three-quarter time but fought back to close the gap in the final term and take the lead in the last two minutes of the final quarter.

With the seconds ticking down 31,000 footy fans were on the edge of their seats at the MCG.

Richmond’s Brandon Ellis had just kicked a goal and Freo were four points down.

Enter Lachie Neale and David Mundy.

The ball was bounced for the last time of the game and in his 100th game Neale bursts from the centre-square and delivered it straight into the hands of Mundy.

There’s 11 seconds to go.

“After 120 minutes of bone crushing football it comes down to one kick,” Eddie McGuire said on Fox Footy.

The siren sounded Mundy steped back, takes a deep breathe and slots the ball straight through the goals.

Fremantle won the game by two-points and the raw emotion from the players spilled out as players ran from all over the ground to celebrate.

This wasn’t the first time Mundy has crushed the hearts of the Richmond fans where a similar scenario occurred in round 17, 2015.

If the past is anything to go by this Sunday’s game against the Tigers is set to be another fierce contest.

Purple Army - we’ll see you there on Sunday, get ready to roar.
