Mitch Crowden described the moment he heard his name called out as one of the biggest shocks of his life.

Crowden was watching the draft with his family, his girlfriend Georgia and his best friend before his name was unexpectedly announced.

“I’m feeling amazing really,” Crowden said.

“A bit overwhelmed at first but it sank in after ten minutes; the realisation that I got drafted.”

Crowden, who was selected at pick 59 in Friday’s NAB AFL Draft said he was looking forward to making the move from the Adelaide Hills to Western Australia.

“I played in a state game this year over there and it was a very nice state,” Crowden said.

“The city looked really nice and I can’t wait to get there.”
