Seven Fremantle players earned votes from the senior coaches following Freo’s 28-point victory against Gold Coast at Optus Stadium on Saturday.

It’s the first time this season that Freo have swept the voting in the Shadforth AFLCA Champion Player of the Year Award.

Captain Nat Fyfe led the way with a maximum 10 votes for his 38-disposal effort - with the votes allocated on a 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 basis by senior coaches Ross Lyon and Stewart Dew.

Ed Langdon, who amassed nine inside 50s among his 27 possessions, earned the second-most votes with six.

Alex Pearce and Michael Walters earned four votes each, with Pearce keeping star Sun forward Tom Lynch goalless while Walters kicked two goals with his 23 possessions.

Midfielder Lachie Neale earned three votes for his 29 disposals and seven clearances, while Aaron Sandilands was awarded two votes for his work in the ruck with 33 hitouts. 

Forward Cam McCarthy, who kicked three goals, was given one vote.

After three rounds, Fyfe sits tied for fourth in the overall standings on 18 votes, eight votes behind leader Tom Mitchell of Hawthorn.
