Fremantle will go in with a small forward line against Adelaide on Sunday at Optus Stadium after making two changes to their starting 22.

Brandon Matera and Hayden Ballantyne return to the lineup following their omissions in round 11 against Collingwood.

The pair played for Peel against Claremont in the WAFL, where Matera kicked three goals in the opening half and Ballantyne delivered six inside 50s as a high forward that switched into the midfield on occasion.

Ballantyne also had 19 disposals, took five marks and laid five tackles in the clash.

Cam McCarthy (omitted) joins the suspended Nat Fyfe as Fremantle’s outs.

As reported earlier on fremantlefc.com.au, Aaron Sandilands will miss a second week after being withdrawn from Fremantle’s initial squad of 26 due to concussion.

Griffin Logue replaced Sandilands in the squad and will be an emergency for the game alongside Mitch Crowden, Ryan Nyhuis and Cam McCarthy.

Bouncedown for the game is 2.40pm WST.
