After an up and down start to the season, Bailey Banfield says Fremantle is primed to continue a good run of form when taking on Brisbane on Sunday at Optus Stadium.

Freo is looking to build on their modest winning streak after back-to-back victories against Adelaide and Carlton going into the bye.

Fremantle have shown impressive form at their home ground and have a chance to push up the ladder with six of their remaining nine games at Optus Stadium.

If they can get the points against the Lions, Freo will return to an even win-loss record with seven wins and seven losses.

Banfield said it was important for Fremantle to continue the surge, which started with help from the Freo Faithful against Adelaide in round 12.

“I think a win like that one against Adelaide was just awesome for us and for the club,” Banfield said.

“The whole fan base was really behind us late in that game and that gave us a lot of really good momentum and we’re still trying to ride that now.”

As a first-year player, Banfield said one of the hardest tasks has been working through the ups and downs of the home and away season.

“It’s definitely one of the biggest challenges of AFL footy,” Banfield said.

“Trying to ride that roller coaster and minimise, as much as possible, the emotional response over the course of the whole week.

“It’s natural to feel disappointed after a big loss but it’s bouncing back as quick as you can from those losses.”
