Kiara Bowers played a starring role on debut in Freo’s win against Melbourne on Sunday according to the senior coaches of both teams.

Bowers polled seven votes in the 2019 Lucky Chicken Eggs AFL Coaches Award from Fremantle senior coach Trent Cooper and Melbourne senior coach Mick Stinear.

The midfielder collected 13 disposals, laid 12 tackles and kicked a goal in her first game of AFLW.

Ebony Antonio, who had 14 touches and a goal, polled six votes in the thrilling four-point win while Dana Hooker polled four votes with her 15 disposal and 12 tackle effort.

Melbourne’s Karen Paxman polled the most votes for the game with nine, while Demonds Lauren Pearce and Elise O’Dea earned two votes each.
