The AFLW has advised details regarding the 2018 NAB AFL Women’s Draft.

Marvel Stadium in Melbourne will host the 2018 NAB AFLW Draft on Tuesday, October 23 at 12pm.

AFLW expansion clubs, North Melbourne and Geelong Cats, still have until Friday, August 31 to sign any players undrafted in 2017 and once that has closed, the 2018 Draft order will be confirmed.

In addition to this, all AFLW clubs are currently able to sign Rookie players. Rookies must not have played Australian Football in the three years prior to May 1, 2018 or been involved in a high-performance AFLW program. The Rookie signing period closes on Friday, September 28.

The NAB AFLW Draft is state-based. Players nominating for the Draft must elect which state the wish to play. The nomination period opens on Monday, September 3.

AFL Head of Women’s Football Nicole Livingstone said the future stars of the game will be named at the NAB AFLW Draft.

“Two players selected in the first round of the 2017 Draft went on to make an immediate impact on the game. Collingwood’s Chloe Molloy was the 2018 NAB AFLW Rising Star while the Western Bulldogs’ Monique Conti was best on ground in the grand final,” Ms Livingstone said.

“The standard of the recent NAB AFLW Under-18 Championships was very high and I can’t wait to see the best young talent playing in the AFLW next year.”

The 2018 NAB AFLW Draft will be streamed live on afl.com.au, the AFL Live app and the AFLW app.
