Saturday will be more than just an average game-day for Freo fan Margaret (Peg) Morrissey.

An avid supporter since 1995, Peg plans to celebrate her 100th birthday with family and friends, a letter from the Queen and top it off with the Freo game that evening.

Janet Beilby, a close family friend and foundation Freo member, told fremantlefc.com.au that Peg was looking forwad to sharing her special day with the Fremantle game.

“It's great that her birthday party happens to be on the afternoon the Dockers are playing the Bulldogs,” Janet said.

“She was a die hard East Fremantle Sharks fan until Freo started, and she’s been loyal since the beginning

“She doesn’t like watching the injuries but she loves both the men's and women's teams. She used to watch every game with my Mum at Gracewood Nursing Home and celebrate at the end of the match with a brandy and dry.”

Peg told Docker TV that Matthew Pavlich remains her favourite player to this day, and her favourite memory was watching the 2013 Grand Final from the heart of Freo with family and friends.

Most importantly, a love of footy has helped keep Peg on top of her game.

“She can tell you everything about the Freo players back in the day,” Janet said.

“She’s mentally as “sharp as a tack”, and her love of the Dockers keeps her emotionally and intellectually focused, happy and on the ball.”

A big happy 100th birthday to Peg from everybody at the Fremantle Dockers!
