Form:

Will Fremantle bounce back after its heavy loss to Hawthorn last round? It was the greatest losing margin under senior coach Ross Lyon and capped off a run of games, that both players and Lyon, have admitted were below par. Carlton come into Saturday’s game off the back of two losses but have been more competitive in the past few rounds than earlier in the year.

Carlton’s Freo blues:

Fremantle has played Carlton 28 times, winning 16 and losing 12. The Blues have not beaten Freo since Round 5 2011, an eight-point win at Domain Stadium. Carlton came close last year losing by just five points in a thriller.

Match Preview: Fremantle v Carlton

Goal sense:

Fremantle needs to find its form in front of goal after kicking just six goals last round.  It will be no easy feat against Carlton’s defence, which is arguably one of its strongest lines. Players such as Kade Simpson, Chris Yarran, Michael Jamison and emerging youngster Dylan Buckley will keep a close watch on Freo’s forwards.

Line up:

Will Fremantle’s match committee swing the axe after last week’s poor showing against the Hawks or back its players to rebound?  Senior coach Ross Lyon confirmed Jon Griffin will play. Tendai Mzungu, who came into the side for Matt Taberner, was solid in his return so looks likely to hold his spot. The TABtouch 22 will be named on Thursday afternoon.

Fremantle play Carlton at Domain Stadium on Saturday 18 July. Bounce down is at 5.40pm
