The 2016 Starlight Purple Haze Game, proudly supported by Fremantle Ports, on Saturday 2 April, will turn Domain Stadium into a sea of purple.

The annual match began in 2003 and has since grown to become a special community event on the club’s calendar.

The match is a fantastic community initiative, where much needed funds are raised for the Starlight Children’s Foundation to help improve the lives of seriously ill and hospitalised children.

Fans are encouraged to wear plenty of purple to the game and donate to the Starlight volunteers who wlll be rattling tins around the stadium precinct in the lead up to the game.

Thanks to Crown, fans will also have a chance to win one of five $100 Crown vouchers by participating in the 'Wave your Wand' competition pre-game and during half-time of Saturday's game.

Fans can pre-purchase a $5 wand from the Freo Dockers Team Stores located at Fremantle Oval and Domain Stadium or on game day from one of the many Starlight volunteers.

Fans can also donate to Starlight Purple Haze by registering a Purple Haze Pledge or holding a Purple Haze Party.

Last year, our fans managed to help raise a record $155,000 for the Starlight Children's Foundation.

Over the past 13 years the club has raised more than $900,000 for the Starlight Children’s Foundation and this year we are hoping to break through the $1 million mark.

The club has seven Starlight player ambassadors; Aaron Sandilands, Chris Mayne, Garrick Ibbotson, Lachie Neale, Alex Silvagni, Matt de Boer and Lachie Weller.

In the lead up to the Starlight Purple Haze game these players give up their time to visit sick children who are being treated at Princess Margaret Hospital.

So, as well as raising funds for the Starlight Children's Foundation, the game also provides a chance for children who have received support from the Starlight Chlldren's Foundation to head to Domain Stadium and watch the game with their families.

Mayne's childhood challenges

The children are granted behind the scenes access and have the opportunity to meet the players after the game.

We look forward to seeing all of our fans dressed in purple at this Saturday's game and, with the help of the Purple Army, we hope to hit the $1 million fundraising total!

The Fremantle Dockers Foundation is proud to have the Starlight Children's Foundation on board as a Principal 'Friend of the Foundation'.
