Fremantle go into the 2016 National Draft with their first top 10 draft pick since Anthony Morabito was selected with pick four in 2009.

AFL concessions to the expansion clubs, Gold Coast and GWS, combined with Fremantle finishing in strong ladder positions, resulted in Lachie Weller’s selection with pick 13 in 2014 being the club’s highest pick in the subsequent six years.

Gold Coast received picks one, two, three, five, seven, nine, 11, 13 and 15 in 2011, while GWS received the same concession in 2012.
