It is hard not to spot young Fremantle ruckman Craig Moller on the field.

His 203cm frame and dreadlocks have made him a favourite among Fremantle and Peel Thunder fans.

The New South Wales product came to Fremantle at pick 46 in the 2012 Rookie Draft as a lanky teenager.

Moller said the AFL system was a shock during his first season but since then he has worked hard to put on weight and improve his fitness.

WAFL Watch: Coach's comments on Moller

“It’s taken me a little bit longer to adapt and get used to the system,” he said.

Moller is now 94kg but is still keen to add more weight to be able to combat with the competition’s big men.

He said Fremantle sports science manager Jason Weber was instrumental in his improvements.

“Jason gives me one on one tutelage and that is really helping me improve,” he said.

Moller has played one AFL game in 2013 but continues to impress for Peel in the WAFL.

He bagged three goals in his best game of the year at the weekend.

The move forward has been a learning curve for the 20-year-old, but he is keen to add the string to his bow.

“I probably prefer to play in the ruck, rather than forward, but these days you need to be able to do more than one thing,” he said.

“It’s crucial to my game to keep improving as a forward and as a ruckman.”

Despite his positioning preference, Moller said he love kicking a goal like every player.

“It’s the best part of a game and it’s great to be able to contribute to the team,” he said.
