Ross Lyon has lamented a poor start and missed opportunities in the third quarter of Fremantle’s 24-point loss to West Coast at Domain Stadium.

Speaking to 6PR’s Sports Today program on Monday night, Lyon said the team would have to review the game closely ahead of this weekend’s clash with North Melbourne.

“It was a disappointing start,” he said.

“I thought West Coast’s intensity and spread caught us wanting.

"We need to tidy up our skills and we can’t let ourselves off the hook for that.”

Fremantle had eight more inside 50 entries for the game, and one more mark inside 50, but conceded four more scoring shots than the Eagles.

Lyon said the quality of ball use going inside 50 was also something the top-of-the-table Freo could work on.

“We didn’t put them under much pressure, we went short and we went wide,” he said.

“There were some shallow entries where we could have gone deeper.

“I was pleased in the second half, we got a number of entries but they scored a lot.”

Fremantle will get their chance to get back on the winners list this Sunday, when they take on North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium.
