Fremantle Dockers captain Matthew Pavlich will be the toast of the town on Friday night as the club celebrates the six-time All Australian’s phenomenal career.

No player has influenced the Fremantle Dockers as much as Pavlich, who is in line to play his 325th game for the club against Collingwood on Thursday night, ahead of a Testimonial Dinner on Friday night at Crown Perth.

The sold-out event will honour the club and AFL Life Member with current and past teammates, coaches and family to acknowledge his career.

Fremantle chief executive Steve Rosich told PerthNow at the weekend that the dinner would recognise Pavlich’s work on and off the field.

“(Pavlich) is a champion guy and champion player,” he said.

“This is an event that’s been in the making for some years and it was just agreed that the timing was right to do it in season 2015.”

Pavlich’s remarkable career includes six All Australian guernseys and six Doig Medals.

He was runner-up in the 2012 Coleman Medal and has been Fremantle’s leading goalkicker in eight seasons.

The Matthew Pavlich Testimonial Dinner is at Crown Perth on Friday June 26.
